This Desert Earth and Wood design build home features insulated concrete form construction from recycled, earth-friendly block from Chandler, Arizona. The outdoor patio area became a focal point of the living space. The roof system made up of a combination of planes creates an interesting profile. Our clients requested that energy efficiency be central to the design, a goal that matches our philosophy of building. This home was designed with the Sonoran desert as a backdrop. All the components are natural materials and the open floor plan highlights the simple beauty of the kitchen. We incorporated glass block under the upper cabinets to bring in the wonderful light of the Arizona sun, and a custom-cut granite back splash that depicts the surrounding mountain profile.
